West Palm Beach, FL, August 13th, 2025

Cambridge Capital (“Cambridge”), a leading investment firm focused on the applied supply chain, today announced the appointment of Rick McDonald, former Chief Supply Chain Officer of Clorox, as an Operating Advisor.

In partnership with the leadership of Cambridge and other Cambridge Operating Advisors, Rick will focus on new investment opportunity development and high-impact, strategic engagements with the existing Cambridge portfolio, leveraging his 40+ years of supply chain leadership.

Rick has spent his career traversing the end-to-end supply chain first at Frito-Lay and then at Clorox, a $7 billion global consumer packaged goods company. His remit included global leadership of the Clorox Supply Chain, and he performed in multiple roles where he had P&L responsibilities.  It is these experiences that make him a valuable advisor across multiple industry verticals. Additionally, Rick has a passion for technology that can transform global supply chains and will serve as an active mentor to the Cambridge technology portfolio navigating sales cycles with large, complex companies.

“I am excited to formalize a relationship with Cambridge, given their position as a leader in supply chain-related investments. I have known the senior Cambridge team for years and have met several of their existing portfolio companies in an informal capacity in more recent years. All are tackling different problems that I know very well. The overlap with my decades of operating experience is significant, and I look forward to adding value and working with Cambridge Capital portfolio founders and management teams for years  to come,” said Rick McDonald.

Benjamin Gordon, Founder and Managing Partner of Cambridge, said “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Rick McDonald. While he was running supply chain at Clorox, he had been an informal sounding board for us, particularly related to the best practical uses of technology to create clear value for suppliers and shippers. After his departure, he has mentored a handful of Cambridge teams, and we realized that there was more opportunity together.”

Matt Smalley, Principal of Cambridge, added, “Rick brings a blend of deep operational expertise, perspective on navigating selling to large companies, and infectious enthusiasm for mentoring and helping the next generation of supply chain leaders that Cambridge Capital is fortunate enough to back.”

Rick was named one of the Top 100 Supply Chain Leaders in 2024 by On Partners and by Alcott Global Partners. Previously he was tapped as a Top 10 Chief Supply Chain Officer by Logistics Tech. Rick is a Strategic Advisor for a number of Supply Chain Technology companies and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business and the Executive Advisory Boards of Vorto.ai and Cleo. He is Chairman of the EAB for ketteQ.com.
